About Us
Our History
Established in 1987 by Nick Haynes and wife Misha.
Nick began his journey straight out of high school at the age of 17. He worked in the Louisville, KY area at (2) conveyor belt companies and decided to venture out on his own. They started this business out of their home inside a metal pole barn & a 200 ft. long drive way. Along with their kids by their side, they would cut and lace belts, & make hydraulic hoses out of the drive way. On early mornings; Nick and his father Dave Haynes would load up their truck to vulcanize customers belts on site. They put in long hours & days, and was very hard work for 2 guys to take on alone.
In 1994 Bullitt Co. Belting was finally strong enough to acquire a “real warehouse”. He had high hopes and dreams, but never imagined all of this. There is now 30 employees at BCB and a facility in Cincinnati, OH that deal with the “light weight” division.
In April 2009; Nick passed away due to Colon Cancer at the young age of 51. He made several friends and acquaintances whom he grew to love and respect. He was a friend and a leader to everyone he met. If anyone could be guilty of loving their job; Nick was. He worked every single day up until the day he passed. Even through all of the sickness & weakness that came along with the Chemotheraphy, he continued to ride around in his scooter and keep an “eye” on the employees! His strength was gained by doing what he loved and we believe that is what kept him going for as long as he did.
BCB is now run by his loving wife Misha Haynes (owner) and (2) of their (4) children Matt and Gabrielle Haynes by their mother’s side. They will continue to carry on Nicks dream by running a “Conveyor Belt” company and do everything they can and were taught to keep it as successful as it always did. We will never forget the loyalty, compassion, and love he had for everyone he came into contact with.
